Police are investigating a double sexual assault Tuesday in the Piihonua area.

Sometime between 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, a stranger who spoke pidgin approached an adult female and a minor female in the vicinity of the Piihonua bridge and led them to a remote area, where he sexually assaulted both of them, police said.

The man is described as a “local male” with a dark complexion, in his late 30s or early 40s, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-8, about 200 pounds with a medium build and a “beer belly.” He was unshaven with short black hair, a black mustache and hazel eyes. He was wearing a black T-shirt, blue surf shorts and black sunglasses.

A 2-wheel-drive pickup truck with a regular cab was parked nearby. It may or may not have been related to this case.

Anyone with information about this case or the identity of the suspect is asked to call the police non-emergency line at 935-3311 or contact Detective Scott Amaral at 961-2276 or scott.amaral@hawaiicounty.gov. Those who prefer anonymity may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
